LandPKS Soil ID Adds Data Export, French and Georgian Translations, and Rate Match

By Derek Caelin

As 2026 begins, we are excited to share a major update to LandPKS Soil ID, the premier app for ground-truthed soil data collection and identification in the field. Version 1.4.2 delivers new features, including data export, a new soil review experience for easier soil identification, and translation to new languages.

Export your soils data

Ground-truthed soils data is a critical and often missing part of land management decisions. Our new export feature lets you download your data, or share up-to-date data with a live link.

Export data from:

  • All sites visible to you in the app,
  • All sites from a project,
  • A single site

We’ve developed two formats for download: a CSV format that is human readable and a JSON format that is best for developers.

Data export will make it easier to enable integration with other processes, apps and services. Analyze your data in your data visualization tool of choice, or import into apps that use soils data like SoilHive. It has never been easier to add ground-truthed soil information to your land management decisions!

Thank you to our partners in the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, and the San Antonio River Authority for their feedback and support. Thank you also to the members of our Beta Program for testing this feature. We would love to have your ideas and suggestions too! Please contact us.

A better soil identification workflow with Rate Match feature

Our new “Rate Match” feature  helps you work more efficiently and reach accurate soil identifications faster. Track your progress with possible soil matches as you compare them against your site observations – exclude unlikely matches, mark matches as uncertain, or select the most likely match as your soil.

This feature works offline, so you can complete your soil identification in the field without access to the internet.

Bonjour! გამარჯობა! Use LandPKS Soil ID in French and Georgian

Responding to user requests, we’ve translated the LandPKS Soil ID app into two new languages. We are grateful to Magueye Sow, Eva Kabaru, Modibo G Coulibaly, Dr. Dominique Diouf, and Dr. Kakha Nadiradze for volunteering to review the French and Georgian translations. These new languages join English, Spanish, and Ukrainian in our growing catalog.

We’ve also added a language selector in the app Settings menu. The app will use your device’s language automatically if it’s in the list of supported languages.

See something that could be translated better? Want to see a language for your own community? We are always looking for partners to help us add and improve language support. Please contact us.

2026 roadmap

In the coming year we will be working on more features and improvements to LandPKS Soil ID:

  • Offline site creation
  • Offline site notes
  • Data visualization enhancements
  • Additional observations, such as depth to bedrock and water table, soil limitations, and more.

You can follow all our updates in our Changelog.

Help us improve LandPKS
